TEMPORARY ROLE: Personal Advisor - 16+ Service (Unaccompanied & Asylum-Seeking Children)


Location: Antrim
Salary: £26,530 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
Contract Type: Temporary
Driving Licence Required
NISCC Registration (or eligible to register)
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading public sector organisation for an experienced and compassionate Personal Advisor to join a dedicated 16+ team, supporting unaccompanied and asylum-seeking children as they transition from care into adulthood.
This is a key frontline role offering practical, emotional, and advocacy support to young people leaving care. The successful candidate will help shape positive futures for some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community.

What You'll Be Doing:


  • Provide one-to-one support in line with each young person's pathway plan

  • Act as a mentor and advocate, promoting independence and wellbeing

  • Contribute to needs assessments and pathway planning

  • Help coordinate and ensure access to services

  • Stay in regular contact and monitor wellbeing

  • Keep accurate written records in line with policy

  • Attend team meetings, supervision, and training sessions

Essential Criteria:


  • 5 GCSEs (grades A-C) including English, or equivalent

  • Registered (or eligible for registration) with NISCC (Social Care part)

  • Minimum of 2 years' direct experience working with adolescents (paid or voluntary)

  • Experience working in partnership with families, schools, GPs, youth services, or similar

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car (unless exempt under disability provisions)
