Payroll Officer

After recent acquisitions our client is keen to attract a talented Payroll professional to join an already established team. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end payroll for 2000 staff members on weekly, bi-weekly and monthly basis.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end recruitment for up to 2000 employees in a weekly, bi-weekly and monthly basis. Reporting directly to the Payroll manger you and 2 other colleagues will be possible for accurate and timely payroll processing. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll
  • Maintain Time and Attendance system
  • Annually update pay rates on payroll software
  • Comply statistical reports which pertain to payroll
  • Process PAYE/NIC payments to HMRC
  • Prepare and upload payroll related accrual journals for posting to the Oracle/Sage accounting systems on a monthly basis.
  • Ensuring accurate financial results are reported on a timely basis as per corporate closing calendar
  • Assist the HR department

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years' payroll experience and have previously processed end-to-end payroll. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • 4+ years' payroll experience
  • CIPP qualifications is desirable
  • Experience using Sage
  • 5 GCSEs grade A*-C or equivalent to include Math and English
  • Driven, self-starter
  • Team player
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
