VANRATH are looking for a talented Payroll Officer to join a tight knit finance function, carrying out end to end payroll processes. This is a sole role offering you the chance to manager a payroll function by

What you'll do


The Payroll Officer will be responsible for the following:

  • End-to-end processing of the weekly PAYE payroll and external Umbrella payrolls
  • Setting up new starters and terminating leavers on the timesheet and payroll software
  • Timesheet management
  • Main point of contact for all timesheet/payroll queries from contractors and clients
  • Umbrella payroll administration
  • Importing pay data into payroll software
  • Processing HMRC notifications, including tax code changes and Student Loan notifications
  • Calculating SSP, SMP, SPP, bonuses in line with HMRC guidance
  • Processing holiday pay and expense claims
  • Producing payslips, P45s and P60s and distributing to contractors
  • Creating BACS files for weekly payments
  • NEST Pension administration, including auto-enrolment, uploading and paying weekly contribution schedules
  • Weekly HMRC submissions, FPS and EPS
  • Weekly reporting for Directors

About you

The successful Payroll Officer must meet the following criteria;

  • 1-2 years experience within a Payroll function
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient with MS Excel
