Are you an experienced Payroll professional who is keen to join a local authority on a 12-month contract basis? This is an opportunity to join a local authority based in Ballymena who provide a good service for the local community.

VANRATH are delighted to be working with a local authority based in Ballymena who are recruiting a Payroll Officer to join their team for a period of 12 months. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for processing the accurate and timely payment of all weekly and monthly payroll.

This is an urgent role for the organisation and as such interviews are happening immediately!

The Ideal Person

If you have recent experience within payroll and are interested in a 12-month contract role with a recognisable employer:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE's including Match and English (Grade c or above)
  • 2 years' experience within Payroll
  • Computer literate with strong Excel skills
  • Ability to start at short notice

Responsibilities

As a Payroll Officer you will:

  • Process and pay all employees including enhancements and deductions
  • Maintain and update payroll databases
  • Produce costing reports to meet all management requirements
  • Dealing with payroll compliance ensuring new starters and leavers documentation is completed
  • Query resolution for internal and external stakeholders
