The Ideal Person
If you have at least 2+ years' experience working in a large payroll function, this could be the care move you are looking for:


Essential

  • 5 GCSE's grade C or above to include English and Maths
  • 2 A-Levels or equivalent or 5 years in payroll
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a large complex payroll function
  • Minimum 2 years' using computerised payroll systems
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft programmes
  • Working knowledge of UK PAYE legislation



Desirable

  • Relevant payroll qualification EG: CIPP
  • Sage payroll qualification
  • Sage 50

Responsibilities
As a Payroll Manager you will be:

  • To be the key point of contact for liaising with the clients payroll provider.
  • To drive improvement in payroll processing and reporting.
  • To manage payroll related services internally, ensuring effective payroll controls, policies and procedures are in place and operating.
  • To be responsible for timely and accurate payment processing and review of discrepancies.
  • To be responsible for posting payroll information into Sage 200.
  • To be responsible for all aspects of payroll related financial control, including month end reconciliations.
  • To product payroll management reports and undertake ad-hoc payroll reporting and payroll related projects.
  • To have an understanding of employer payroll and pension obligations and be responsible for ensuring compliance.
  • To have a good working knowledge of the clients terms and conditions and to provide accurate information and guidance when required.
  • To keep up to date with all legislative changes relating to payroll
  • To liaise with outside agencies.
  • To undertake such other relevant duties which may from time to time be required that are relevant to the post.
