VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a growing and leading business in Belfast City Centre who are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist. This is a newly established role, reporting directly to the Head of HR, with responsibility for overseeing payroll on a global scale. It's an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented payroll professional to take ownership of payroll operations while contributing to wider business projects.

In this varied and hands-on role, you'll play a key part in ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time across multiple regions. Responsibilities will include:
Processing both monthly and bi-weekly payrolls within strict deadlines
Managing overtime and bonus payments, including calculations and approvals
Handling starters, leavers, pensions, student loans, and auto-enrolment updates
Maintaining and updating the Time & Attendance system
Preparing BACS files for payment release and reconciling credit card and expense transactions
Posting wages journals and reconciling payroll-related control accounts
Submitting accurate HMRC returns and keeping up to date with global legislative requirements
Producing payroll and headcount reports for internal stakeholders
Supporting audit and budgeting processes
Driving improvements in payroll systems and procedures
This role is ideal for someone with strong payroll experience, now looking to step up into a global environment and work closely with senior leadership. We're looking for:
Proven experience processing UK payroll
Strong knowledge of PAYE, NIC, HMRC returns, and pensions
Proficiency in payroll software (Sage or similar) and advanced Excel skills
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset
Finance or accounting-related qualification
ROI payroll experience highly desirable
