Payroll Clerk (Hybrid, 25k)
VANRATH are delighted to be working with a local retailer to assist them in their search for a new Payroll Administrator for their Finance function. The payroll admin will be responsible for processing and finalising the payroll and pensions information as well as assisting with payroll duties, reporting to the Payroll manager.

The Role
The payroll administrator will be responsible for the following:

  • Process pay related changes and finalise payroll for weekly/monthly paid colleagues
  • Process pension information and deductions in line with agreed timelines
  • Cross check processed payroll against original input
  • Advise payroll company of required changes
  • Input agreed pay rate changes
  • Secure sign off on agreed documentation
  • Prepare employee information files for uploading onto on-line platform
  • Process such information through payroll provider
  • Confirm deductions as advised
  • Update Core with all new starter, leaver and employee change information to ensure such is accurate and processed in timely manner
  • Review information held on Core to ensure such is accurate at all times
  • Produce reports using Oracle BI
  • A team player and covering other team members activities during periods of holidays & sickness

The Ideal Candidate
The successful payroll administrator must meet the following criteria;

  • At least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above to include English and Maths
  • 1-2 years experience within a Payroll function
  • Or candidates without formal qualifications who have at least 2-3 years administration experience.
  • Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must uphold confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to perform administrative and analytical tasks accurately within a timely manner.
