Part-Time Bookkeeper

About you

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades A-C), including Maths and English, or equivalent
  • Proven experience (at least 3 years) in a similar bookkeeping role
  • AAT or equivalent bookkeeping qualification preferred
  • Skilled in using accounting software and MS Office
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and initiative
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
  • Discretion and respect for confidentiality

What you'll do

  • Manage all aspects of the organisation's financial accounts, including multiple bank accounts and project funds
  • Perform regular bookkeeping duties, bank reconciliations, and prepare reports against budgets
  • Oversee petty cash and coordinate with staff for supply ordering
  • Collaborate on annual budget preparation and monthly financial reporting
  • Prepare for audits, liaise with external accountants, and ensure compliance with all financial policies
  • Manage Gift Aid submissions and oversee the transfer of mission donations
  • Support ad hoc financial duties as needed to meet evolving community needs
