VANRATH are delighted to represent this dynamic and growing accountancy practice based in Portadown. They are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Part-Time Accountant to join the team. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a flexible work schedule while contributing to a vibrant and expanding practice.


What you'll do

As a Part-Time Accountant working three days per week, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Bookkeeping: Accurate and timely maintenance of financial records for clients, including data entry and reconciliation.
  • VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Payroll Processing: Handle payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing for clients.
  • Accounts Preparation: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and year-end accounts.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to address queries, provide support, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Compliance: Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and ensure client compliance.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to support the overall efficiency of the practice.


About You:

To excel in this part-time role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Accounting Qualification: A recognised accounting qualification or be working towards one (e.g., AAT, CAT).
  • Experience: Previous experience in an accountancy practice or similar role is advantageous.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload efficiently.
  • Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and compliance.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
