Parks Operative - Public Sector

Job Description

Our client, a leading provider of well-maintained public parks and recreational areas, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Parks Operative. This role is essential for ensuring that green spaces remain safe, clean, and inviting for the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance of park grounds, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and planting.
  • Maintain park facilities such as playgrounds, picnic areas, sports fields, and walking trails.
  • Perform regular inspections to identify and address safety hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Assist in the setup and teardown of events and activities within the parks.
  • Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and vehicles safely and effectively.
  • Collect and dispose of litter and debris to keep parks clean and tidy.
  • Interact courteously with the public, providing information or assistance as needed.
  • Report any damage, vandalism, or issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and best practices.

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining various types of landscaping equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A positive attitude and a genuine passion for working in outdoor environments.
  • Valid C1+E driver's license is required.
