Location: Belfast
Salary: £31,537 - £33,699 per annum
Contract: Initial interim contract
Working Pattern: Full-time

An established public sector body is seeking a Paralegal to provide high-quality administrative, governance and legal support within a regulatory and adjudication environment. This is a varied role offering exposure to information governance, adjudication processes, and legal research within a professional and values-driven organisation.

The Role

The successful candidate will support adjudication and complaints processes, manage sensitive case files, and play a key role in information governance and data protection compliance. The post will suit someone with strong attention to detail, sound legal or governance experience, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, managing and maintaining adjudication and casework files
  • Providing administrative and coordination support for hearings and reviews (virtual and in-person)
  • Drafting and coordinating responses to SARs, FOI and EIR requests in line with statutory requirements
  • Logging, tracking and monitoring information requests to ensure deadlines are met
  • Drafting correspondence and supporting responses on legal and governance matters
  • Maintaining legal databases and records management systems
  • Undertaking legal research and preparing reports for senior colleagues
  • Supporting wider governance, legal and organisational projects as required

Essential Criteria

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a minimum of two years' relevant experience in the following:

  • Providing legal advice or support to senior managers and staff
  • Working in a legal, governance or regulatory administrative role
  • Handling confidential information in line with data protection requirements
  • Using IT systems and remote communication platforms (e.g. MS Teams, Webex)
  • Managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of GDPR, FOI, EIR or administrative justice procedures
  • Experience supporting adjudication, complaints handling or casework
