VANRATH are recruiting a Painter Decorator to work within the Building Maintenance department for a large, leading Construction Company in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Remuneration:
£28,112 + van / fuel / package
General Overview
Responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and other structures within residential properties. Ensures that all painting and decorating work meets high standards of quality, contributing to the aesthetic appeal and maintenance of the properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and removing old paint or wallpaper
- Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Hang wallpaper and other decorative wall coverings with precision
- Repair and touch up existing paintwork, ensuring a seamless finish
- Mix and match paint and finishes to meet colour and texture requirements
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure their longevity and performance
- Protect furniture, flooring, and other surfaces from paint splatters and damage
- Follow health and safety regulations and company policies while performing tasks
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Use of PDA system to manage all day to day tasks
The Ideal Person:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Valid CSCS / CSR card
- Working knowledge of current Health and Safety Legislation
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to demonstrate good teamwork values
- Full driving license
