VANRATH are delighted to be recruiting for a large public sector organisation for a PA initially on an interim basis for 3 months, with possible extension. The post holder will provide effective, proactive and comprehensive executive administrative support to the Chief Executive and Chair in the performance of their duties; and contribute to the effective and efficient administrative management of the corporate business of the Organisation as required.

Your profile:

1A. A university degree or equivalent qualification AND one year's relevant experience as an Executive Assistant supporting a Chief Executive or Director or Board/Council

OR

1B. 4 years' relevant experience as an Executive Assistant supporting a Chief Executive or Director or Board/Council

AND

2. Candidates must have worked with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation, to achieve successful outcomes.

AND

3. Experience of using Microsoft Office including Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.


Summary of responsibilities:

The post holder will provide effective, proactive and comprehensive executive administrative support to the Chief Executive and Chair in the performance of their duties; and contribute to the effective and efficient administrative management of the corporate business of the organisation as required. The post holder will act as a conduit between the Chief Executive office, Organisation Council and staff/stakeholders.

The post holder will be responsible for the development of Standard Operating procedures within Business Support for all Board and Executive business. They will also highlight for the CEO and Board, issues at a policy level that may be of interest to the Organisation and deal with highly confidential information on a regular basis.

  • First point of contact for the Chief Executive.
  • Provide briefings and reports to CEO, Chair and Board.
  • Administrative duties as required, including delegating work to administrative and reception staff on behalf of the CEO.
  • Diary management.
  • Manage the corporate secretariat services provided to the board.
  • Taking minutes at meetings.
  • Support the Business Manager in governance arrangements for the organisation, including an advisory role on corporate and governance arrangements.
