VANRATH are delighted to be representing a global logistics and freight forwarding company, with offices situated across the globe, to find an experienced professional with a sea and/or air freight background. You will be responsible for delivering a first-class service to customers while working within budget. You will also focus on operational and commercial development.

The ideal person:

• 3 years as supervisor or higher within freight forwarding
• Sea and/or air freight is a must
• Proven ability to manage and motivate teams

As the Operations Manager, duties will include:

• Prepare reports on the performance of the branch and suggest and implement ongoing improvements in line with business processes
• Negotiate with suppliers and distribution networks to determine tariffs which should be in the interests of the company at all times.
• Develop and maintain business relationships with both customers and suppliers.
• Provide hands on support to the branch, advise and share industry knowledge, assist with staff training and development, acting as a mentor and positive role model, leading by example at all times.
• Manage a variety of commodities for all shipments.
