The Opportunity
VANRATH are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Office Administrator to join a well-established organisation in the healthcare sector, based in Belfast. This is an interim contract and provides a chance to work within a supportive and rewarding team environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous office administration experience, ideally within a healthcare or similar setting, who is looking for a stable, structured role with purpose.
The Role
Working 30 hours per week across 4 days (Monday to Friday), you will be responsible for a blend of administrative, financial, and HR-related duties to support the daily operations of a busy care home.
Salary: £14.13 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Office & Reception Duties
- Front-of-house duties, greeting visitors and handling calls
- General administration to support the smooth running of the home
Finance Support
- Updating time & attendance systems for payroll
- Managing petty cash and resident funds
- Banking duties and invoice creation for external services
- Generating purchase orders and liaising with the finance team
HR Support
- Coordinating rota cover, liaising with agencies and bank staff
- Logging absence details and forwarding relevant medical documentation
- Minute-taking during formal meetings when required
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in a similar administrative role
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Proactive with strong time management and multitasking abilities
- Flexibility to work any 4 days between Monday to Friday
Desirable:
- Previous experience in an office-based role within a care home or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with HR and payroll administration
- Knowledge of time & attendance systems
