Nucelear Medicine Radiographer


We are seeking a qualified Band 6 Nuclear Medicine Radiographer to join Belfast Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work within Nuclear Medicine where you will be performing and assisting with a broad range of activities associated with the use of radioactive substances in the investigation & treatment of patients.

Applicants must have experience within the radiotherapy setting, be adaptable to support service needs and able to communicate effectively with all members of the team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • The performance of Radionuclide imaging and organ uptake measurements and the quantitative analysis of image data.
  • The preparation of data for clinical reporting.
  • To ensure that all clinical data is archived according to departmental protocols and that data is stored securely.
  • The dispensing and administration of radiopharmaceuticals
  • The preparation of radiopharmaceuticals as required.
  • The supervision and training of students and junior staff.
  • To follow examination protocols, Local rules and radiation protection guidelines according to departmental guidelines.
  • The provision of technical expertise in relation to the research and development programmes of the department and in the evaluation of new procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to liaise with relevant individuals and groups and establish good working relationships, which support continuous quality initiatives.
  • Ensure that personal quality of work is evaluated against performance and departmental quality standards.
  • To ensure Radiation Protection rules are applied at all times.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree or Diploma in Radiography.
  • Current HCPC Registration.
  • Diploma in Radionuclide imaging / Nuclear Medicine or PgD with Radionuclide module or willing to train. At least 2 years' experience in General Radiography.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.


Location: County Antrim

Salary: £37,338 - £44,962 (Band 6 salary scale)
