Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

Location: Downpatrick
Salary: £21.24 per hour
Contract: Maternity Cover

VANRATH are delighted to be working with Newry, Mourne and Down District Council to recruit a Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (Maternity Cover) based in Downpatrick. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the delivery and assessment of community safety and good relations initiatives across the district.

The Role


Reporting to the Safer Communities & Good Relations Manager, the postholder will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the Council's Policing & Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) and Good Relations programmes.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the monitoring, reporting and financial administration of PCSP and Good Relations projects.
  • Producing quarterly financial and performance reports and ensuring full compliance with funder and audit requirements.
  • Carrying out verification visits, data collection and project reviews to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Supporting the development of effective information management and evaluation systems.
  • Liaising with internal departments, elected members, funders and community partners.
  • Providing advice and training to staff and grant recipients on monitoring and evaluation processes.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in programme or project monitoring and evaluation, ideally within a public sector or funded environment.
  • Strong financial administration and reporting skills, including experience preparing claims and tracking budgets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Knowledge of public sector governance, audit or community development processes is highly desirable.
