The Role

You will create software for our existing and next generation mobile enterprise solutions and cloud products. This highly visible and mission-critical role will work directly with the Product, Engineering, and Operational Teams to design systems that handle tens of millions of online golf rounds annually. Working with state-of-the-art technology, you will participate in the implementation and development of the whole product development lifecycle.

As a member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for new features, new products, platform maintenance, and support, they will offer their skills and expertise as a Java developer and carry out crucial duties such as:

  • Contributing to the design and development of Object-Oriented software.
  • Interacting with multiple stakeholders spanning Product, Technology and Operations teams.
  • Contributing to the software development lifecycle including analysis, design, coding and testing.
  • Proactively managing their own tasks to agreed deadlines.
  • The ability to take ownership for delivery of any projects they are contributing towards.
  • Adopting and providing feedback on industry best practices to our development teams.
  • Working collaboratively within and beyond the team to identify innovative ways to improve practices and procedures.
  • Mentoring and onboarding new team members.

Qualifications

  • extensive practical expertise in software development
  • RDBMS and SQL expertise, preferably with PostgreSQL
  • Java and Spring/Hibernate framework development experience
  • knowledge of microservices architecture and/or Docker
  • Test Driven Development (TDD) process knowledge

Further qualifications would be advantageous, such as:

  • Unit testing and Mocking frameworks
  • CI/CD utilising build tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and GitLab
  • Principles of agile delivery and supporting procedures
