Job description

Mechanical Supervisor / Site Manager (M&E)

Client

An established M&E contractor with a long-standing track record is seeking to appoint a Mechanical Supervisor / Site Manager due to continued growth and expansion. The organisation delivers projects across the commercial, industrial, health, education, leisure, and residential sectors throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and the UK. This is a permanent, site-based role, primarily within Northern Ireland, with planned and supported travel to ROI and GB where required, operating within a structured contracts and project management framework.

The Ideal Person

Applicants will come from a plumbing or heating trade background with a clean driving licence and solid site experience. Applications are welcomed from experienced Mechanical Supervisors, Working Supervisors, Chargehands, or senior mechanical operatives ready to step up, provided you have strong health and safety awareness and the ability to coordinate site activities. You will be PC literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, organised and methodical in your approach, and confident communicating with site teams, subcontractors and management. A proactive, team-focused mindset and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

As Mechanical Supervisor / Site Manager, you will be responsible for delivering well-planned, supported projects, ensuring installations are completed safely, to programme and to the required quality standards. Duties include coordinating labour and day-to-day site activities, procuring materials and managing hire equipment, liaising with other trades and site management, preparing short-term lookahead programmes with support from the Contracts Manager, contributing to the master programme, carrying out site-based health, safety and quality inspections, attending progress meetings, and providing clear, regular updates to the Contracts Manager as part of a structured delivery team.

Remuneration

£35,000+ DOE with uplifts for travel / project scope, plus private healthcare (with service), death in service insurance, enhanced company sick pay (dependent on length of service), and ongoing training and development within a supportive working environment.
