Mechanical Assembly Manager

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am - 3:00pm
Location: Belfast


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK and Ireland's leading Building Services specialists as a Mechanical Assembly Manager.

Our client designs, develops, and delivers innovative offsite-prefabricated, sustainable building service solutions for major projects across the UK and Europe.

The Role

As Mechanical Assembly Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of mechanical assembly operations within the company's modern facility. You'll play a pivotal role in managing production schedules, supervising teams, and ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety across all activities.

This role would particularly suit someone with a background or working knowledge of plumbing or mechanical building services, looking to take the next step into leadership and operational management.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage mechanical assembly teams and supervisors, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules.
  • Liaise with Project Managers and production teams to coordinate resources and ensure projects are ready for build.
  • Review and approve mechanical assembly drawings for accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of assembly procedures and operational improvements.
  • Manage subcontractors, materials, and machinery maintenance.
  • Support weekly progress reporting and monitor project KPIs.
  • Identify and develop team skills, fostering growth and high performance within the assembly department.
  • Ensure all work meets company quality, safety, and environmental standards.


About You
Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or similar leadership role.
  • Relevant MEP trade qualification (mechanical or plumbing background highly beneficial).
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office & Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, structured, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience leading continuous improvement or lean initiatives.
