Lecturer - Essential Skills Numeracy & GCSE Maths

Campus Location TBC (Flexibility across sites required)
£30,000 per annum starting salary
Full-time, Permanent

The Role

You'll become an integral part of a vibrant teaching team, responsible for:

  • Planning, delivering, and assessing GCSE Maths and Essential Skills Numeracy.
  • Acting as class tutor, offering administrative and pastoral support.
  • Co-ordinating delivery and assessment across programmes.
  • Developing and promoting ILT and library resources to enhance learning.
  • Participating in quality assurance, continuous improvement, and compliance with awarding body standards.
  • Engaging with external stakeholders to promote the provision.
  • Supporting recruitment, induction, and marketing activity across the college.


This role requires a flexible approach, with occasional evening work expected.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Hold GCSE English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent Essential Skills qualifications
  • Educated to degree level with at least 50% of the course content in Mathematics
  • Experience delivering/tutoring Essential Skills Numeracy or GCSE Mathematics
  • Excellent administrative and planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication ability


Desirable:

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience in delivering Essential Skills Literacy or ICT
