Job Description

VANRATH is pleased to be partnering with a highly respected local employer as they seek to appoint Materials Scheduler to join their thriving logistics and planning team. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break and no weekend hours. The role is offered initially as a 12-month fixed-term contract with a strong likelihood of extension or permanency, based on performance.

This position will be based at the organisation's site in Newry, with clear career pathways available beyond the initial contract.


Remuneration

Approximately £35,000, along with a market-leading benefits package and clear advancement prospects.


Key Duties

  • Coordinate the supply of essential parts and products from external vendors to align with production and service requirements.

  • Track incoming shipments to ensure they meet timeline, packaging, and volume expectations.

  • Work closely with suppliers to proactively address lead times, shortages, and delays.

  • Investigate and resolve order discrepancies, including invoicing and delivery issues.

  • Monitor stock levels and contribute to continuous improvement in inventory efficiency.

  • Support internal logistics by overseeing movement and allocation of goods to different departments or sites.

  • Assist with system upgrades, reporting, and data validation as part of wider business improvement projects.

  • Oversee the use and return of transport containers and handling units.

  • Maintain and update item and supplier profiles within the SAP S4/Hana system.


Your Background

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.

  • Previous experience in a procurement, inventory, or logistics role is essential.

  • Strong relationship management skills when working with suppliers or third parties.

  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems; experience with SAP S4/Hana is desirable.
