Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Banbridge Area
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
Monday - Friday (Day Shift)

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer as a Manufacturing Engineer. This role is ideal for someone with a strong blend of process improvement and design experience, looking to play a key role in driving efficiency and innovation within a modern production environment.



The Role
You will support and enhance manufacturing operations by improving processes, supporting product design for manufacture, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will help optimise performance, reduce waste, and improve overall product quality.



Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and improve manufacturing and assembly processes to increase efficiency and quality
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve design and process issues
  • Support design for manufacture (DFM) and new product introduction (NPI) activities
  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean / Six Sigma methodologies
  • Carry out root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate on design and implement jigs, fixtures and tooling to support production
  • Ensure processes are safe, efficient and aligned with operational goals


Requirements

  • Third level qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in a manufacturing / production environment
  • Strong understanding of process improvement and design principles
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment


Desirable

  • Experience with automation or advanced manufacturing techniques
  • Six Sigma (Green Belt or similar)
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g. Minitab)
