VANRATH are pleased to be working with a top client on their search for an experienced Managed Services Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing world class support on the front lines of this company.

The role

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage the company's stack of products on the client's behalf, including developing rules and performing event analysis.
  • On behalf of the client, adjust security and audit rules on the company's products.
  • Do routine system health checks and service evaluations.
  • Become an expert on the company's product troubleshooting.
  • Support for setting up, installing, and configuring the company's products.
  • Promote customer security by offering security/audit analysis, best practises for application and data security, and other related services.
  • Perform Incident Response and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Participate in a global team to protect the company's customers from bad actors

The Ideal Person

  • 2+ yrs of relevant technical support experience.
  • Knowledge of DNS, SSL, TLS, reverse proxies, SQL, firewalls, HTTP/S, TCP, TCP/IP, and other protocols.
  • Being able to communicate the OWASP Top Ten Web Application and API Vulnerabilities to team members who are not technically inclined or security conscious.
  • Linux based OS and basic troubleshooting experience
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule.

Desirable

  • Cloud experience
  • Database admin experience
  • Server admin experience
  • Experience in writing MongoDB queries
  • Knowledge of and ability to understand and write regex expressions
  • Experience in common scripting language
