As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all site maintenance activities. Your main goals will be to enhance the reliability and performance of our plant and equipment, manage and develop the maintenance team effectively, and maintain strict cost control.
This role is demanding and requires a qualified engineer with proven supervisory or management experience in a large industrial or manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate should have experience in best practices, asset management, and plant/equipment control systems, along with the ability to challenge existing procedures and systems.

The role:

  • Collaborate with factory production management to develop, implement, and lead effective planned preventative maintenance systems.
  • Provide high-level engineering support and innovative solutions to enhance the performance of the production plant, auxiliary equipment, systems, and spares.
  • Supervise and manage the maintenance team, ensuring efficient collaboration with external contractors and service providers regarding performance and cost.
  • Lead the strategy for effective asset management to support the organisation's improvement initiatives and ambitions.
  • Assist in developing effective maintenance management reporting systems to capture, analyse, and track plant performance, maintenance, and site services costs.
  • Manage all aspects of the engineering/maintenance budget to ensure effective cost control.
  • Oversee the implementation of effective energy management controls and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering policies, EN standards, PUWER, Health and Safety, and statutory inspections.



About you:

  • Extensive experience in a manufacturing, plant engineering, or maintenance role, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory position, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing a range of engineering skill sets, including in-house mechanical and electrical teams and technicians.
  • Strong project management, people management, and leadership skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities with a successful record of introducing maintenance best practices and asset management strategies.
  • Experience with reliability and predictive maintenance programs, compressed air and refrigeration plant, electrical power, industrial instrumentation/controls, and industrial PLCs.
  • Proven experience in leading, controlling, and delivering capital/technical projects within cost and time constraints.

Required Criteria:

  • Ideally hold a third-level qualification in an Engineering Discipline (HND/Degree).
  • Preferably possess IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications.
  • AutoCAD/2D design experience is advantageous.
  • 3 years of management experience.
