Maintenance Engineer (FMCG)
£35,000 +
County Tyrone
VANRATH are delighted to be representing a industry-leading distribution company in County Tyrone, that now has a brand-new opening for an Maintenance Engineer. This position has been created in line with continued expansion and recent investment. This is a 40-hour week with 1 in 3 Saturdays to be worked.


The ideal person:

  • A relevant qualification in electrical, manufacturing, mechanical or production engineering
  • Relevant experience
  • Ability in Maths, Science and IT
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good practical and technical skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Work well under pressure and manage a varied workload
  • Initiative to work on own or as part of a team
  • Awareness of health & safety legislation


Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Maintenance Manager to plan, organise and control the installation, repair and upkeep of company property including machines, mechanical, electrical, heating and air conditioning systems efficiently and cost effectively while also ensuring food safety, legality and quality
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks according to the preventative maintenance schedules
  • Conduct unscheduled maintenance issues in a timely and proactive manner
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager with machine installations
  • Actively investigate faults ensuring root cause is determined and follow up actions to sustain improvements
  • Ensure all equipment is safe and fit for purpose
  • Assist with administrative duties to include ensuring that all certificates of compliance are maintained and up to date according to relevant legislation
  • Improve equipment efficiency through a good understanding of machines and equipment
