M&E Condition Surveyor (Public Sector)

VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for a M&E Condition Surveyor for 6 months initially with the possibility of extension/permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Respond on a day to day basis to requests from building users, for urgent repairs to their mechanical and electrical systems and infrastructure including kitchen equipment and other services deemed necessary.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to requests for day to day emergency maintenance and repairs to the Mechanical and Electrical Services installations and equipment in all properties.

  • Carry out regular visits to properties in relation to day-to-day maintenance problems and planned maintenance programmes.

  • Appoint and supervise contractors of various disciplines to carry out maintenance repairs and planned maintenance projects.

  • Issue and being accountable for works orders to contractors, for maintenance works and tendered projects.
  • Inspect, supervise and instruct Contractors of various disciplines in relation to the quality of work in progress.
  • Co-operate with DRD, DENI, Water Service, Local Councils, NIE and Health and Safety Inspectorate to enable maintenance projects to be carried out effectively and in compliance with relevant legislation.

Essential skills required

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical studies.
  • Demonstrate previous condition surveying experience.
  • Technical knowledge and competence in both Mechanical and Electrical maintenance.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Presentation and report writing skills.
  • The ability to analyse problems, in order to identify solutions.
  • The ability to take on high levels of responsibility with enthusiasm and motivation.
  • Good IT skills, including computer-aided design (CAD).
  • Full driving licence and use of a car.
  • Will be required to work throughout Northern Ireland.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with a wide range of professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team and the technical ability and knowledge to contribute as an effective member of a team.
  • Flexibility to meet changing demands and to prioritise as required.
  • CSR card to be at least Health & Safety training level or willingness to get it.


Remuneration
£35,745, per annum, plus discount benefits.
