Job description

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our major Public Sector client, a large organisation with the recruitment of a Leisure Attendant to join their team based in Newtownabbey.

About you

  • Hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent
  • Strong swimming ability and confidence in water rescue techniques
  • Experience working as part of a team, ideally within the leisure industry
  • Strong customer service ethos with a professional and respectful approach
  • Flexible attitude to working hours and duties
  • Commitment to health & safety, safeguarding, and equality standards
  • Willing to complete enhanced Access NI checks
  • Desirable: Hold a recognised First Aid qualification

What you'll do

  • Supervise customers across all leisure facilities to ensure safe and enjoyable use
  • Provide a professional lifeguarding service for pools and water facilities
  • Respond to emergencies, first aid incidents, and evacuations as required
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation
  • Complete safety checks, incident reports, and relevant documentation
  • Assist customers, promote leisure services, and support membership initiatives
  • Report hazards, faults, and maintenance issues promptly
  • Support opening, closing, and security procedures within the centre
