VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large and well-known Public Sector Organisation with the recruitment of a Legal Advisor to join their team based in Belfast.

This is a Temporary position initially for a period of 6 months.

Salary

£55,000 - £61,000

Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality legal advice, both orally and in writing, on significant and complex legal issues.
Interpret and apply legislation, statutory instruments, and other legal documents in advising clients and stakeholders.
Exercise sound legal judgement and analytical skills in resolving complex legal problems.
Communicate with clarity and confidence to clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Manage a diverse caseload of litigation within the Northern Ireland court system.
Represent clients and the organisation at all stages of court proceedings.
Lead on case management, including strategy, preparation of legal submissions, and evidence gathering.
Provide legal management and representation at all stages of Judicial review proceedings, Coroner's inquests, Public inquiries, and Criminal proceedings.

Essential Criteria:

Be a qualified solicitor or barrister licensed to practice in Northern Ireland, holding a current practising certificate (or be eligible to obtain one by the date of appointment).
Have at least 3 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) of advising on significant, complex legal issues, including:

Have at least 3 years' PQE of managing litigation cases in the Northern Ireland court system, including practical experience of presenting cases at court.
Have at least 3 years' PQE of legal management and representation at all stages in one or more of the following areas:
