VANRATH are assisting a UK leading materials supplier based in Templepatrick for a Laboratory Supervisor.

The Ideal Person

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience within a similar role and/or within the construction industry
  • Educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working in a team environment, providing information and support to colleagues
  • Experience of working with recognised accreditation standards, ie BS, ISO, NRA
  • Experience of working with LIMS
  • Driving licence to enable the post holder to fulfil the duties of the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist Technical Manager in maintaining Laboratory UKAS scope of accreditation and assist with extension to scope.
  • Assist Technical Manager in Maintaining Laboratory Quality Management Systems / Manuals / standards reviews & updates.
  • Liaise with production, contracting and sales staff and become fully aware of the specifications of materials for each project. Utilise this information in the development, review and operation of asphalt and concrete mix designs.
  • Ensure laboratories and sites are resourced to effectively meet contract requirements and equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Ensure laboratories are clean, maintained and equipment is in good working order.
  • Supervise and manager all laboratory and site staff, ensuring correct sampling and testing of materials take place and accurate reporting structures are implemented.
  • Responsible for monitoring the production of materials. In the event of a problem arising, responsible for finding and implementing solutions.
  • Follow all company policy, procedures, and site rules.
  • Assist Technical Manager with complaint investigations.
