This is a fantastic opportunity to join a very well funded rapidly growing organisation, and work alongside some great senior talent in a welcoming small knit team.

This client is developing the next generation of capabilities that will empower merchants across the globe! Their mandate is to deliver value in a radical and responsible manner. They are thrilled to have launched their first local Front-end team, which currently includes three well experienced seniors. They are looking forward to welcoming either a Junior/Intermediate front-end engineer to help tackle some great greenfield projects!

The SE II/SE I will assist us in transforming our existing suite of apps into a modern experience that will delight our customers and make it easier for them to manage their merchant portfolio and accept payments in the long run. They will use modern tools and frameworks such as Typescript and React to design and build data-rich portals, simple yet secure hosted payment pages, and payment form elements in collaboration with our User Experience team. Furthermore, they will contribute to the creation and maintenance of a reusable component library to aid in the realisation of our design system.

The SE II/SE I will work with a variety of languages, frameworks, libraries, and services as part of a dynamic and exciting development centre, while utilising cutting-edge software techniques such as Behavioural Driven Development and CI/CD.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Recognise merchant and partner needs, problems, and expectations, and take action to meet those expectations through high-quality, innovative solutions that add value to our customers.
  • Through applied experience, automation, and simplification, improve the software development process, methodologies, and tools.
  • Work with team members to ensure that deliverables are technically accurate and useful on time - we incorporate quality into all stages of the software lifecycle, with a focus on end-user observable (and testable) system behaviours.
  • Identify critical project activities and tasks, assist with estimation and planning, ensure timely and accurate communication of status, issue resolution, and contribute beyond assigned tasks - adjusting priorities as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in Software Engineering.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Knowledge of front-end product development.
  • Knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6/7+).
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS, including one of SASS, LESS, or SCSS.
  • Some knowledge of front-end development tools (e.g., NPM / Yarn, Babel, Webpack, Gulp, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of one or more modern web frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)
  • Working knowledge of one or more modern web frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)
  • Self-starters who can work well in a variety of situations and project types, from a team of one to a team of many.
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
