Overview

The IT Service Desk Manager will join an IT Infrastructure team of around 60 staff, and will primarily be responsible for managing a Service Desk team of up to 8 staff. They're mostly focused on incident management and service requests. In addition, you'll manage services and relationships with clients/suppliers, and collaborate with other teams including Cyber Security. You'll work with senior management to report on service performance and contribute to system upgrades and planning etc.

About you

  • 3+ years' experience within the last 5 years in an IT Service Desk Manager role within a large organisation.
  • Can demonstrate experience of managing a team including planning, prioritising and managing resources within a collaborative team-based environment.
  • Strong and broad knowledge of IT systems and hardware.
  • Ability to manage relationships and collaborate with stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation
  • Desirable: A relevant IT degree / ITIL Certified.

What you'll do as an IT Service Desk Manager

  • The IT Service Desk Manager will ensure that the IT service processes are well defined, implemented and operated across the organisation.
  • Promote the adoption of ITIL principles within and beyond the IT Department and ensure all processes adhere to ITIL industry standards.
  • Assist with the implementation of the IT strategy including communicating how technology supports the organisation's strategic goals
  • Manage a Service Desk team of up to 8 staff
  • Collaborate with senior managers, external suppliers and suppliers to streamlines services and processes
