My client, a well-established public sector organisation operating within a multi-site enterprise (Ballymena/Coleraine/Newtonabbey/Magherafelt) environment, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their IT Systems function. This is a key role responsible for the ongoing development, optimisation and support of the organisation's network and communications infrastructure.

The Role
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, monitoring and enhancement of network infrastructure, alongside supporting strategic upgrades and new technology implementations.
You will:
Manage and maintain LAN, WAN and wireless infrastructure
Configure and support switching, routing, VLANs and remote access solutions (VPN)
Administer firewalls, network access control and security policies
Support Windows network services (DNS, DHCP etc.)
Oversee telephony and unified communications systems
Perform proactive monitoring, traffic analysis and capacity planning
Lead on firmware upgrades, patching and infrastructure improvements
Deliver network-related projects including installation, configuration and testing
Maintain documentation, disaster recovery processes and asset inventories
Support incident resolution within agreed SLAs
Liaise with third-party suppliers and vendors
Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior team members
The Person
* Strong experience within a multi-site network environment
* Advanced knowledge of Ethernet switching and routing protocols
* Strong understanding of network security principles and firewall management
* Experience supporting Cisco, HP or equivalent enterprise networking technologies
* Solid knowledge of Microsoft network services
* Experience diagnosing and resolving complex network faults
* Strong understanding of low-level network protocols
* Experience managing wireless infrastructure
Qualifications (one of the below):
* Relevant Level 4 qualification plus 3+ years' networking experience
* OR 7+ years' relevant networking experience
* OR Associate-level networking certification (e.g. CCNA or equivalent) plus 2+ years' experience
