IT Programme Manager ( ERP )

Job Description

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a globally recognised tech-for-good manufacturing company who have been in business over 150 years, in their search for an IT Programme Manager.

This role involves planning and designing programmes to drive IT digital transformation. It defines the governance framework within the project management office, balancing individual project progress, identifying and resolving issues, and initiating actions as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Programme Roadmap: Collaborate with IT leaders to create a roadmap supporting digital transformation, optimising daily operations, and reducing technical debt.
  • Lead Digital Roadmap Execution: Establish and manage business processes, programs, and projects to deliver transformation; allocate resources effectively, ensuring KPIs and governance activities are met.
  • Governance and Delivery: Define, initiate, and lead the delivery and governance of a portfolio of projects to meet standard methodologies.
  • Benefit Tracking: Identify and quantify business benefits; track and ensure delivery.
  • Communication: Articulate program aims and their relevance to IT transformation and organisational vision and values; motivate teams to achieve business goals.
  • Transformational Leadership: Execute projects aimed at fostering a digital culture, promoting collaboration, and new digital-enabled working methods.
  • Resource Management: Define project and programme resources needed; secure and manage resources to deliver outcomes on time and within budget; manage team member flow on and off projects, enhancing capability through training and mentoring.
  • Risk Management: Identify project dependencies, constraints, risks, and issues, escalating as necessary. Implement and measure the impact of mitigation solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans; build positive relationships and ensure stakeholder input is valued.
  • Budget Management: Develop programme resource budgets, provide budget forecasts, and drive sustainable resource utilisation. Prepare business cases for planned variance in spend and address unplanned variances.
  • Benefit Realisation: Develop and manage benefits cases for projects and programmes; track and evaluate delivery against plans, identifying actions to maximise benefits.
  • Team Environment: Foster an inclusive environment where team members feel valued and safe.
  • Safety Culture: Promote a safety-first culture and ensure a healthy working environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years Senior Project/Programme Management experience with increasing responsibility
  • Previous experience in finance would be advantageous
  • Experience in ERP Implementations
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment such as Defence or Aerospace would be highly advantageous
