Job description

Our client is a well-established and forward-thinking organisation that has continued to grow through innovation, efficiency, and a strong commitment to operational excellence. As part of their ongoing digital transformation, they are seeking an IT Manager to lead the evolution of their technology function - ensuring that systems, infrastructure, and processes are secure, scalable, and fully aligned with business goals.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded leader who enjoys balancing hands-on delivery with strategic oversight, working closely with leadership to enhance data-driven decision-making, streamline digital workflows, and ensure the business continues to operate at peak efficiency.

The Role

The IT Manager will take full ownership of the organisation's technology landscape, overseeing infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and digital systems across multiple sites. You'll play a key role in shaping and executing IT strategy, leading a small team to deliver high-quality support and robust technical solutions.

This position combines day-to-day management of systems and suppliers with long-term planning - focusing on improving integration, automation, and governance to future-proof the company's technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an IT strategy that supports operational and strategic objectives.

  • Oversee infrastructure performance across on-premise and cloud environments, ensuring security, stability, and scalability.

  • Manage ERP and business-critical system implementations, integrations, and process improvements.

  • Lead on automation and digital workflow initiatives to enhance efficiency across departments.

  • Implement strong cybersecurity controls and maintain compliance with relevant frameworks (e.g. Cyber Essentials).

  • Ensure IT policies, governance, and documentation meet regulatory and data protection requirements.

  • Provide effective leadership and direction to the IT team, driving collaboration and professional development.

  • Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and service-level performance.

  • Monitor IT budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and value delivery.

  • Deliver technical support and training to internal users, fostering confidence in IT systems and tools.

About You

  • Proven experience in IT management or senior infrastructure leadership role.

  • Strong background across systems administration, networks, and cloud platforms (Microsoft 365 / Azure ideal).

  • Experience managing ERP or business system rollouts and integration projects.

  • Solid understanding of data governance, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks.

  • Excellent project management skills, with experience delivering multi-site or business-critical technology projects.

  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage across all levels of the organisation.

  • Highly organised and proactive, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.

  • Relevant third-level qualification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary reflective of experience.

  • Opportunity to lead a growing IT function and shape future technology direction.

  • Hybrid and flexible working options.

  • Collaborative, supportive team culture.

  • Ongoing professional development and exposure to transformational projects.
