VANRATH are working with a respected engineering and technical solutions business to recruit an Internal Sales Representative to join their office-based commercial team. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a customer-focused sales environment and has an interest in technical products or engineering solutions.
The Role
The Internal Sales Representative will act as a key point of contact for incoming customer enquiries while providing support to the wider sales team. The role involves managing quotations, assisting with order processing and providing guidance on suitable product solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to inbound customer enquiries via phone, email and at the trade counter
- Providing product information and assisting customers with selecting suitable solutions
- Preparing and issuing quotations for both new and existing customers
- Supporting external sales engineers with pricing, product specifications and customer queries
- Processing customer orders and ensuring information is recorded correctly within company systems
- Working with suppliers to source parts and equipment when required
- Maintaining regular communication with customers regarding order progress and delivery timelines
- Collaborating with internal teams including service, stores, accounts and contracts to ensure orders are fulfilled smoothly
- Supporting the daily operation of the trade counter including walk-in customer enquiries
- Maintaining accurate documentation such as quotations, orders, purchase orders and delivery notes
- Taking part in ongoing product training to develop technical knowledge
Assisting the sales manager with general sales administration and team support when required
The Ideal Candidate
The company is keen to speak with candidates who have experience in an internal sales, customer support or technical sales environment, ideally within an engineering or industrial setting.
Criteria:
- Previous experience in an internal sales, sales support or customer service role within a technical or industrial environment
- An interest in engineering products, mechanical systems or technical equipment
Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines
- Customer-focused approach with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment as part of a wider team
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office; experience with CRM or order processing systems would be beneficial
- Motivated and willing to learn new products and technical information
