Internal Communications Lead

Job Description

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting their client, a large Public Sector organisation in their search for an internal Communications & Engagement Lead. This role offers Hybrid working and is based in Belfast.

Responsibilities

The post-holder will be responsible, through the Programme Manager, for the planning and delivery of a range of initiatives and services to meet the Programme's strategic communications needs. The Programme is a large and complex regional transformation programme.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor an effective, collaborative, and innovative communications and engagement strategy for the Programme which supports the Programme's key objectives and priorities including, informs key internal and external partners, promotes effective communication across all stakeholder groups, and enhances confidence in the Programme.
  • Support the Programme Manager and Programme Board in managing internal and external communications ensuring all stakeholders receive meaningful communications & engagement throughout the Programme lifecycle until Programme closure.
  • Manage a number of communications staff (including external partners) providing professional advice and support, helping to prioritise workloads and optimise performance.
  • Provide professional communications support and guidance to Programme governance, senior Programme management and the wider Programme team on communications planning and issues.
  • Develop strong digital channels, including internet, intranet, social media, and newsletters enhancing engagement with the Programme and growing regional awareness of the Programme across.

The Ideal Person

1a. A University degree (or recognised professional qualification) in a subject such as Communications, Marketing, Business, or PR and at least 3 years relevant experience working within a Communications function in a large-scale, complex organisation.

Or

1b. Have at least 5 years relevant experience working within a Communications function in a large-scale, complex organisation.

2. Demonstrable experience and skills in communications management. A proven track record in advising senior officers, formulating messaging and responding often within tight deadlines.

3. Proven experience and skills in leading on proactive communication strategies and campaigns in relation to high profile and complex projects, working with a broad range of stakeholders.

Remuneration

This is a Band 8a post offering a competitive salary of £50,952 - £57349 and an immediate start.
