Intermediate Quantity Surveyor (Construction & Civil Engineering)
Client
An exclusive opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join our client, delivering residential, commercial, educational, and key infrastructure projects. The organisation is well known for its commitment to delivering high-quality projects within the construction and civil engineering industry. Focusing on engaging with local communities, minimising environmental footprint, and maintaining a strong emphasis on health, safety, and well-being in delivering projects for clients. Working closely with the wider Commercial team in a rewarding environment, you will play a key role in delivering quality and value-for-money projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join a vibrant and established team.
The Ideal Person
- Knowledge: Third level degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or construction-related discipline.
- Experience: At least 5 years' previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience: Good working knowledge of construction contracts such as JCT / NEC / PWC.
- Skill: Ability to plan, organise, prioritise, and work to deadlines using your own initiative.
- Skill: Excellent communication skills with strong negotiation ability.
- Skill: Proficient in Microsoft packages, particularly Outlook and Excel.
- Skill: Full valid driving licence.
Responsibilities
As a Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for:
- Negotiating and appointing sub-contractors to schemes.
- Managing sub-contractor packages from appointment through to final account.
- Submitting valuations and variations on schemes.
- Building close working relationships with Contracts Managers and Site teams to deliver quality projects.
- Visiting sites to review work completed, assess quality, and manage costs.
- Complying with all company systems and procedures, including Information Management Systems.
- Completing any other tasks commensurate with the role.
Remuneration - £40,000 - £45,000 (DOE)
