A leading organisation is currently recruiting a Payroll Manager to join their team based in the Bangor area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an employer with an excellent reputation in the local market and who provide an essential service to the local community.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for all employees across the business.
  • Ensure correct processing of variable hours, shift patterns, and overtime.
  • Maintain accurate employee data within the payroll system including starters, leavers, role changes, contracted hours, and absence records.
  • Calculate and process statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP, and holiday pay in accordance with legislation.
  • Oversee pension administration, auto-enrolment duties, and ensure contributions are calculated correctly.
  • Ensure payroll is fully compliant with HMRC requirements, employment law, and sector-specific regulations.
  • Prepare and submit all statutory returns, including FPS/EPS submissions.
  • Maintain payroll systems and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, efficiencies, and reporting accuracy.

The Ideal Person

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Payroll Manager or senior payroll professional, ideally within shift-based sectors.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC processes, including payroll calculations, process, tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in payroll systems such as Sage 50.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
