VANRATH are delighted to be recruiting a BAND 7 Project Manager for a large HSCNI organisation, who have a major piece of work around introducing a digital integrated care record to Northern Ireland. As Project Manager you will be supporting the senior technical Project Manager in delivering technical projects, while providing expert advice on technical aspects of the programmes business decisions and supporting on the development of technical strategies.

This system will be where medical notes are made, medicines prescribed, tests ordered and referrals made and received. Patients and their carers will be able to book appointments, review test results and correspondence, and communicate with those providing their care. The system will provide real-time, up to date information to all those involved in caring for our patients, empowering them to make efficient, effective, patient-centred decisions.

HSC currently uses lots of different IT systems which cannot, or cannot easily, communicate with each other. Many of these systems are old, outdated, and require replacement. Rather than continuing to rely on paper records and replacing technology on a system by system basis, encompass will use this opportunity to better use IT investment to transform and rebuild the way we care for people in Northern Ireland.

The Ideal Person

  • Experience of managing Programme/Project budgets >£50K
  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner or previous experience utilising a project methodology (e.g. PRINCE 2, other similar methodology).
  • A University Degree or relevant professional qualification AND have worked for at least 3 years in a Project Managament role within a major organisation.

Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will take responsibility for the management and delivery of small to medium-sized projects across encompass. They will deliver projects to time and budget in line with approved standards. The Project Manager will work with key stakeholders for each project delivered.

This can be considered as:

  • Working collaboratively with all stakeholders to develop business cases; Manage projects through the required formal approval stages such business case approvals.

  • Develop plans and strategies for delivery of projects. Produce documentation and reports in line with HSC Standards and Practices as appropriate. Report project progress through Highlight Reports, Stage and Exception Plans as required;

  • Collaborate effectively with vendors/third party suppliers in the procurement, implementation and transition of small to medium sized Systems, Solutions and Services.

  • Follow agreed procedures and specialist advice, such as legal or procurement services, as required to effectively deliver a project.

  • Maintain Project Risks and Issue Logs

  • Liaise with Programme Managers and related projects to ensure that project deliverables are coordinated and duplication is avoided where possible

Remuneration:

The salary on this role is in line with the HSCNI BAND 7 (£41.6-£47.6k) pay scale, with other discount perks.
