HR Administration Officer (Temporary)
Location: On-site (office-based only)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £30,458 pro-rata
Our client, a public sector organisation, is seeking an experienced HR Administration Officer to join their Human Resources team on an agency basis. This is a busy, hands-on role supporting core HR administration, training coordination, and systems-based work during a period of change and development.
Please note: this role is fully office-based. Hybrid or remote working is not available for agency workers.
Key Responsibilities
As HR Administration Officer, you will support the effective delivery of HR services across the organisation. Duties will include:

  • Contributing to the development of the staff training plan for the second half of 2025/26
  • Processing training applications using the personnel administration management system
  • Assisting with monitoring and reporting on training budget spend
  • Supporting the completion of a skills audit in preparation for the 2026/27 training plan
  • Providing day-to-day HR administrative support, including use of the attendance recording system
  • Maintaining sickness absence records and ensuring managers complete absence return forms and interviews
  • Assisting with recruitment activity in line with Recruitment and Selection Procedures, including use of the online recruitment system
  • Supporting the implementation of hybrid working arrangements across the organisation
  • Assisting with the migration of personnel data to a new cloud-based HR system
  • Supporting the digitisation of manual personnel files


Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00am - 5:00pm (35-minute lunch break)
  • Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm (40-minute lunch break)


About You
You will have:

  • CIPD Level 3
  • Previous experience in an HR administration or personnel support role
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information
  • Confidence using HR systems and databases
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
  • A collaborative, professional approach to working within a busy HR team
