HR Officer - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Belfast (multi-site)
Hours: 37.5 per week
Contract: Fixed Term (12 months)

We are partnering with a leading, large-scale FMCG and supply chain organisation to recruit an experienced HR Officer for a 12-month fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, values-driven business with a strong focus on people, performance and continuous improvement.
This role will suit a proactive HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, operational environment and partnering closely with managers to deliver high-quality HR support.
Please note: This role requires onsite presence 4 days per week and regular travel between sites in the Belfast area.
The Role
Reporting into the HR Business Partner team, the HR Officer will provide a full generalist HR service across multiple operational sites, supporting both managers and employees.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering comprehensive HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including resourcing support, onboarding, probation, offboarding, retirement, HR KPIs, payroll queries and employee status changes
  • Supporting managers with employee relations matters such as investigations, disciplinary meetings and hearings, including note-taking and drafting formal correspondence
  • Advising managers and employees on HR policies, ensuring consistent and fair application
  • Supporting engagement, communications and culture initiatives at site level
  • Assisting with HR-wide projects and initiatives
  • Coordinating, planning and delivering training interventions, including training needs analysis, scheduling and acting as the main point of contact for learning and development
  • Supporting managers with performance management, absence management, engagement and problem-solving
  • Acting as a trusted point of contact for employees, providing guidance and support as required
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance with HR data standards
  • Building strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation


About You
You will be an organised, resilient and people-focused HR professional who thrives in a busy environment.
Essential requirements:

  • Third level qualification in HR, Business or a related discipline
  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar HR Officer / HR Generalist role
  • Strong exposure to employee relations and HR operations
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation and the confidence to advise managers effectively
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Full driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites
  • Flexibility with working hours, including occasional attendance at night-shift meetings

Desirable:

  • Experience in a unionised environment
  • Background in logistics, retail, manufacturing or FMCG
