Job Title: HR Officer

Salary / Range: Up to £35,000

Summary
VANRATH are partnering with a growing organisation in Coleraine to recruit an HR Officer who will play a key role in supporting staff and management across all HR functions. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on HR role, enjoys problem-solving, and is committed to creating an efficient, supportive, and fair workplace for all employees.

What do you need?

• Proven experience in HR, preferably in a generalist or officer role
• Strong understanding of HR policies, employment law, and best practice
• Experience managing HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and absence management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and HR systems for record-keeping and reporting
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Experience providing guidance to managers and employees on HR issues
• CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable

What you will do each day

• Support the HR function by managing day-to-day HR processes and employee administration
• Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HR databases
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of staff
• Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment law
• Support performance management processes, including appraisals and development plans
• Monitor absence, leave, and other HR metrics, producing reports as required
• Coordinate training and employee development initiatives
• Assist with HR projects, audits, and compliance activities to ensure legal and organisational standards are met
• Contribute to fostering a positive workplace culture and employee engagement
