Job Title: HR Officer

Summary
VANRATH are partnering with a growing organisation in Coleraine to recruit an HR Officer who will play a key role in supporting staff and management across all HR functions. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on HR role, enjoys problem-solving, and is committed to creating an efficient, supportive, and fair workplace for all employees.
What do you need?
- Proven experience in HR, preferably in a generalist or officer role
- Strong understanding of HR policies, employment law, and best practice
- Experience managing HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and absence management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and HR systems for record-keeping and reporting
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Experience providing guidance to managers and employees on HR issues
- CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable
What you will do each day
- Support the HR function by managing day-to-day HR processes and employee administration
- Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HR databases
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of staff
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment law
- Support performance management processes, including appraisals and development plans
- Monitor absence, leave, and other HR metrics, producing reports as required
- Coordinate training and employee development initiatives
- Assist with HR projects, audits, and compliance activities to ensure legal and organisational standards are met
- Contribute to fostering a positive workplace culture and employee engagement
