Role: HR Officer - Permanent - Carrickfergus

Job Overview
VANRATH have partnered with a client in Carrickfergus to recruit an HR Officer. This role involves managing HR processes, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. You will support HR initiatives, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a positive workplace culture while assisting employee development and organisational effectiveness.

  • Full time, Permanent
  • Office-based, 9am-5pm

What you'll do:

  • Manage recruitment and onboarding, including job postings, interviews, hiring coordination, and new hire integration.
  • Serve as a key contact for employee relations, resolving conflicts and promoting engagement initiatives.
  • Support performance management by coordinating appraisals, setting goals, and addressing performance issues.
  • Ensure HR administration and compliance, overseeing payroll coordination, leave management, and policy adherence.
  • Identify and coordinate training and development programmes to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Contribute to HR projects and policy development, aligning HR initiatives with overall business objectives.

What you'll need:

  • Proven HR experience with expertise in recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, HR best practices, and policy compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build relationships at all organisational levels.
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Desirable:

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent HR certification.
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and mediation.
