Role: HR Officer - Permanent - Carrickfergus

are excited to support a returning client in thier search to appoint an experienced HR Officer. The successful candidate will deliver effective HR support across the organisation, focusing on employee relations, operational HR tasks, and policy implementation to ensure smooth and compliant HR practices.

  • Salary: Up to £38,000
  • Full time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line HR support, advising on employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinary cases, and absence management.
  • Lead or support investigations into employee concerns, ensuring compliance with legal and internal procedures.
  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including payroll processing, benefits administration, and contract changes.
  • Co-ordinate recruitment and onboarding processes, including shortlisting, interviews, and issuing employment offers.
  • Maintain and analyse data from HR systems to produce accurate reports for senior management.
  • Take minutes at senior HR and management meetings, and prepare confidential reports as required.
  • Deliver HR-related projects, support wellbeing and CSR initiatives, and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Promote compliance with HR policies and employment legislation while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Criteria:

  • CIPD qualification and/or relevant third-level HR-related qualification.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a generalist HR role, with direct involvement in employee relations including grievances, disciplinary matters, absence management, and investigations.
  • Proven ability to coach and support line managers on HR issues, ensuring best practice is followed.
  • Strong working knowledge of current UK employment legislation and HR compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills; able to handle sensitive and confidential issues with discretion.
  • Well-developed planning, organisational, and analytical skills; able to prioritise and work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience using HR systems (PAMS and NorthTime PR desirable).
  • Experience contributing to CSR or community outreach initiatives (desirable).
