VANRATH are proud to be partnering with our client, a well-known Public Sector client in Education, in their recruitment of an HR Business support Officer to join their team based in Ballymena on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

As a HR Business Support Partner, you will provide HR support and advice within the organisations policy and procedure to colleagues and key stakeholders, driving respect, fairness and consistency in their application. To lead the HR vision, enhance engagement with the business needs and ensure the HR service provided adds value to the organisation.

This is an exciting role which will provide the opportunity to deliver specialist projects identified as priority areas of work within the organisation.

  • To develop effective relationships and work in partnership with department managers to understand and proactively support current and future business needs and department challenges.
  • To establish and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders and provide timely responses to queries. To advise and coach managers on the application of HR policies and procedures, driving compliance and consistency. To provide advice, support and guidance to all employees on HR processes and policies e.g. recruitment & selection, terms and conditions, employee relations and sickness absence/welfare.
  • To maintain up to date knowledge of relevant legislation such as employment, equal opportunities and data protection legislation.
  • To advise and support managers with employee relations investigations and the resolution of complaints, issues and concerns to minimise the risk of litigation.
  • To guide managers in the optimum utilisation of their teams and performance management.
  • To provide training to employees in HR related areas and drive a culture to support employees to become the best they can be.
  • To write, review and update HR working procedures to improve processes, sharing best practice within the HR team to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Support the Head of HR & CPD and HR Manager on work based projects.
  • Assist with the compilation of the Article 55 report on equal opportunities monitoring which is submitted three yearly as required by legislation.

The Ideal Person:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A - C or equivalent including English Language and Maths
  • CIPD L3 and 3 years' work experience (within the last 5 years) in a generalist HR role providing advice and support to line managers across an organisation to include:
  • Management of recruitment processes
  • Assisting with employee relations investigations
  • Advising on employee welfare
  • Collation of and reporting on HR data

Remuneration:

  • A competitive salary of £26,446-£30,095 per annum is on offer.
