Temporary HR Assistant - Public Sector/Hybrid


Are you an experienced administrator with a strong interest in HR? We are recruiting, on behalf of a well-established public sector education body, for a Human Resources Assistant to join their HR team on a temporary basis, starting 11th August for an initial period of 3 months, with the possibility of extension.
This is a great opportunity to gain valuable HR experience within a structured and professional team.

The Role:


As HR Assistant, you'll support a range of essential HR functions including recruitment, employee records, contracts, and general clerical support. While you may have a key area of focus, you'll work across the HR team to help deliver an efficient, confidential, and customer-focused service.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Handling employment-related queries

  • Maintaining and updating HR databases and manual files

  • Supporting recruitment and selection admin, including pre-employment checks and contracts

  • Providing guidance on leave, terms and conditions, and employee documentation

  • Preparing reports, letters, and meeting documentation

  • Supporting equality, staff development, and safeguarding processes

Essential Criteria:


  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C)* including English and Maths

  • At least 2 years' administrative or clerical experience

  • Experience using computerised information systems for data input and reporting

  • Proven ability to work confidentially and professionally

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable Criteria:


  • HR or personnel administration experience

  • Understanding of HR procedures and standard practices


Additional Information:


  • Temporary role, initially 3 months (with potential for extension)

  • Start Date: 11th August 2025

  • Subject to AccessNI clearance

  • May involve occasional travel across other local campuses
