Location: Ballymena
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000
Contract Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Are you a dynamic and people-focused HR professional with a passion for Learning & Development? We're recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client in the luxury hospitality sector who is seeking an HR & Learning and Development Officer to join their expanding team based in Ballymena.

The Opportunity
This newly created hybrid role will sit at the heart of the HR function, combining day-to-day HR operations with the design, delivery, and evaluation of engaging training programs. You'll be a key player in supporting the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding and compliance to learning and succession, all while championing a positive, inclusive, and performance-led culture.
You'll collaborate with department heads to develop meaningful training solutions, ensure legislative compliance, and help drive strategic workforce initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
HR Operations:

  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records aligned with data protection standards.
  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance to managers and employees.
  • Support employee relations including absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies.
  • Liaise with Payroll and Health & Safety teams to support smooth workflows.
  • Prepare and submit required HR and equality reports.
  • Act as the primary HR contact in the absence of the HR Manager.

Learning & Development:

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate in-house training aligned to business needs.
  • Collaborate with managers to identify departmental training requirements.
  • Track and maintain compliance with mandatory and optional training.
  • Drive a culture of learning, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Support career progression through tailored learning pathways and succession planning.
  • Assist in the use and development of the Learning Management System (LMS).


What We're Looking For
Essential:

  • Solid understanding of Northern Ireland employment law.
  • Proven experience delivering both HR support and L&D initiatives.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
  • Familiarity with e-learning or LMS platforms.
  • Ability to work autonomously with a solution-driven mindset.
  • Full driving license and access to own vehicle.

Desirable:

  • CIPD Level 3 (or working towards).
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customer-focused industry.
  • Knowledge of luxury service standards.
