At VANRATH, we are delighted to be partnering with a highly respected organisation in the manufacturing/construction sector, based in Antrim, to recruit a talented and experienced HR Advisor to join their growing Human Resources team.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a broad and hands-on generalist HR role, supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle within a dynamic and people-focused environment.
The Role
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Advisor will play a pivotal role in delivering operational HR support across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, and policy development. You will act as a key point of contact for managers and employees, ensuring best practice HR delivery that aligns with legislation and company values.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Provide advice and support on employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, and welfare.
  • Assist in coordinating training and development initiatives, including apprenticeships and graduate programmes.
  • Manage the leaver process and conduct exit interviews.
  • Support performance reviews and development planning through appraisal systems.
  • Maintain and update HR systems (e.g. PeopleHR), and ensure all employee data is recorded in line with GDPR and internal standards.
  • Contribute to the review and implementation of HR policies, delivering training to line managers where needed.
  • Provide accurate advice on terms and conditions of employment and general HR queries.
  • Assist in labour market benchmarking and contribute to employee engagement and retention strategies.

Candidate Profile
Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Proven background in recruitment, employee relations, and training delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Strong IT skills and experience with HR systems.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

Preferred:

  • CIPD qualified (Graduate level).
  • Experience in the manufacturing, construction, or engineering sectors.
