Are you looking for a Household Recycling Centre Attendant (Public Sector) role? Interested in working for a large public body?

VANRATH are recruiting a Household Recycling Centre Attendant to assist in the day to day operation of any permanent or temporary Household Recycling Centre within the Borough. The post holder will undertake, usually as part of a small team, duties associated with the operation of a Household Recycling Centre.



Remuneration:
£11.63 per hour, alongside holiday entitlement.

27hrs per week, 2 week rota as below:

Week 1 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 08.30-19.15.

Week 2 Monday, Tuesday 08.30-1915, Saturday 08.30-18.15.

Responsibilities

  • To advise and direct members of public where and how to deposit waste and to physically assist them to do so.
  • To assist all users of the site with the segregation of waste and disposal of re-use, recyclables and other wastes.
  • Monitor users of the site and refuse access in accordance with the site licence and prevent unapproved removal of waste materials.
  • To open, close (in the absence of a senior attendant) and work in any Household Recycling Centre (HRC) at appropriate times as instructed by management.
  • To ensure all buildings and working areas within the site and the perimeter of the site, including associated footpaths or car parks are kept clean and tidy, and partake in all cleansing schedules for the site.
  • To ensure that all operational procedures and documents relating to site operations are maintained and completed effectively.
  • To assist external and internal contractors with the servicing of the recycling facilities.
  • To assist the Recycling Officer in education and awareness activities.


The Ideal Person

Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have one years' relevant experience to include:-

  • Working in a waste operations environment
  • Working within a team environment
  • Working within a customer service environment dealing with complaints and queries from the general public
